soo... what is hell, exactly ?
most dictionaries that you can actually get your hands on nowadays seem to only point you in one direction; but which one is it? good or bad? ding ding ding, we have a winner. yes, its most certainly a bad thing... for example, this rotted old thing defines hell as the place or state of punishment of the wicked after death; the abode of evil and condemned spirits.
after death? punishment of the wicked? condemned spirits? my ass. extreme disorder or confusion; chaos. hmmm...now that sounds about right. we're living in our own personal hell right now, and guess what? none of us are actually dead, damn it. and whose fault is it? our's. that's right. its our own fault that we've ended up in this shithole of a situation...
but to put it as lightly as words can express, everyone, we're all damned; bang! blown right out of the water...and no one even saw it coming. except maybe the corporation that started it all when they started the whole issue in the first damn place.
the year was 2012, the year that everyone had been shouting and screaming about for years anyway thanks to that old prophecy about the world ending... and a twenty-eight year old chemist working at one of the largest corporations in the world created a virus that caught her boss's attention right from the start. it may have been accidental, but it ended up being confiscated by stanton industries founder and chief, who then fired anna kane and began selling out the virus to multiple countries.
but every plan has a slip in the line, right? one of those buyers let the virus get out and it swiftly covered the planet, infecting and mutating the genes of almost fifteen percent of the total population... everything sort of fell and swirled down the drains of that old proverbial toilet from there. pretty soon, world war III had started up, and there were somehow very few alliances left around. everyone wanted to kill off everyone else... the infected people across the globe were forced into hiding away and cowering from their fates, and those who remained 'normal' began to seek them out with the idea to either kill them or seize and use their powers for themselves.
stanton industries brought those people together, promising them wealth and power of unimaginable proportions just for funding experimentations on those with altered genes...and they all went for it. and within a month's time, the main new york labratory was converted for this very purpose and anyone with altered DNA patterns who had not escaped into hiding was taken captive, tested on mercilessly, and then disposed of--or killed, if we want to be blunt about it...
anna kane...remember her, the lowly little chemist who started all of this nonsense in the first place? yeah, well it turns out that she really did feel pretty shitty about her mistake. she took one vial that she had hidden from her collegues and injected herself with the virus, changing herself into one of the mutants who were being forced into hiding all over the world. but she knew that they were stronger than that, if she could just get them to band together and work as one...if she could just show them how powerful they were and that there was strength in numbers...
she set off immediately on her vigilante mission, beginning to start up an army of her own bent on fighting back against all odds...the year is now 2015 and anna has mysteriously disappeared, leaving all of her followers without a clue as to how to defend themselves all over again. how will so many people from different backgrounds and belief systems who would have hated themselves at any other time learn to work together as a collective when there is so much standing in their way?
and even more importantly: what side will you take in this hell-like business? will you seek out royalty with the upper class residents of the world and assist in hunting down those who are different, or will you find pity with those mutated individuals and seek to help their cause? will you choose to shed the blood of the masses in an outbreak far worse even than the holocaust itself, or will you seek to alleviate the troubles of this harshened world? make your choice quickly, now, because this is our downfall.
